Marisa Ruiz Trejo has received international recognition through fellowships and research grants from organizations including CLACSO and CAFA, Edmundo O'Gorman Fellow at Columbia University, a Fulbright-García Robles Fellow at New York University, and Heath Visiting Professor at Grinnell College.

Her forthcoming book, Antropólogas y pensadoras críticas desde el Sur: de las pioneras a las feministas insurgentes y activistas (CLACSO–UNACH, 2026), presents twenty-eight interviews with leading feminist scholars and activists, tracing the history of feminist anthropological thought from the Global South.
