Mexico’s 2008 criminal justice reforms created a pathway for expanding Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (Mecanismos Alternativos de Solución a Controversias, MASC) across the country. However, many years later Mexican states, and their civil society counterparts, still lack the mechanisms to effectively monitor and evaluate the use of MASC. ONC will work with state AGOs to improve and standardize their use of data through the creation of a consolidated, common system for capturing information on alternative dispute resolution.
