This grant will support the Alianza Regional por la Libre Expresión e Información's work with its network members and other actors across Latin America to contribute to a more robust understanding of barriers to open justice. Project activities will include the production of an updated and comprehensive view of access to information and transparency in the region, focusing on the 14 countries of the Alliance. This will include an analysis of all key justice system actors (judges, prosecutors, and public defenders) focusing on key gaps as well as positive practices and recent improvements.
