Fishing agreements are a powerful tool for community-based conservation and governance of fishing territories and aquatic systems. FGV will work with community leaders in Mamori Basin to develop a standard Fishing Agreement Assessment and Evaluation cycle and process. FGV will also develop recommendations for improving governance and protection policies for artisanal fishing territories in the Brazilian Amazon.
