Scaling up Effective Pedagogical Practices in Panama and Improving the Educational System from Within

Enhance the adoption of effective pedagogical practices for learning recovery by strengthening the role of supervisors and the institutional system of pedagogical support and accompaniment to schools

PROJECT DURATION
16 months
This project addresses the fact that the school supervising structure in Panama – as well as in the rest of the region – has been losing its pedagogical dimension and is increasingly focused on administrative and inspection functions. SUMMA will identify the best supervisory practices from Latin America and the rest of the world and work alongside teachers, supervisors, and educational authorities to design and validate a contextualized framework to improve national supervision in Panama. A training program co-created with supervisors themselves will allow them to develop a more intentional role as facilitators providing pedagogical orientation and support for teachers.
