Minga Perú will continue its efforts to support families and communities in remote areas of the Peruvian Amazon to maintain access to education despite continued school closures. The organization will produce and broadcast audio lessons aimed at 1,250 students in grades three through six in 30 rural schools. Lessons will be offered in Ikitu, Kukama-Kukamiria, and Spanish drawing on a curriculum that emphasizes family involvement and local socio-productive calendars. In coordination with local education officials, Minga Perú teachers will monitor students’ learning and provide ongoing support.
