Instituto Reúna’s mission is to provide technical and pedagogical resources to accelerate the implementation of the Brazilian National Core Curriculum (adopted in 2018) and to create effective, consistent education systems across Brazil. Through this project, Reúna will create diagnostic and formative assessments for all grade levels in math and Portuguese. Teachers will be able to easily access the assessments through an online platform that will include one diagnostic assessment per grade, provide user-friendly tools for school leaders and teachers to analyze the results, and offer lessons and pedagogical strategies that support learning recovery during the 2021 school year. The formative assessments will support teachers to prioritize the teaching of the most essential skills during the pandemic and assess student proficiency at multiple points during the school year.
