MAIA will provide training to public primary school teachers in the department of Sololá with a focus on addressing students’ learning loss during the pandemic. A smaller number of teachers will receive more intensive support to develop teaching strategies for students’ return to the classroom. In addition, MAIA will partner with the One World Network of Schools to support five NGO-led schools serving vulnerable populations to develop “reentry plans” that adapt their in-person curricula for a post-pandemic context.
