Since its founding in 2016, Corporación Educativa and Cultural Motete (Motete) has prioritized programming to address high illiteracy rates in the Colombian department of Chocó. As part of this project, Motete’s team will design six easy-to-use learning modules for teachers and parents with a grade-differentiated approach. Each module will be developed for offline and online use and incorporate culturally appropriate texts and literature, drawing on Chocó’s rich Afro-Colombian and indigenous cultural heritage. In total, the project will reach 420 K-5 students and 540 teachers and parents.
