As seen across Latin America, COVID-19 has disrupted the administration of justice in Mexico. This includes the use of amparos, which are used to obtain protection in cases of alleged human rights violationsThis project seeks to ensure that the amparo system continues to function properly despite the challenges of the pandemic and that gaps in its efficacy during this time do not permanently erode its role in protecting constitutional rights. Although the project will focus in particular on migrants that have experienced human rights violations, it will benefit members of other vulnerable populations that require protection under the law.
