Organization for Youth Empowerment (OYE) will lead a multipronged project to support the education community of El Progreso, a working-class city outside of San Pedro Sula. First, OYE will support educators from three local high schools to develop and implement action plans that increase student retention during and post-pandemic. Second, OYE will train 100+ teachers to facilitate engaging and accessible distance education classes. Lastly, OYE will expand its tutoring program to provide academic and motivational support to 1,000 students in the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades leveraging a network of volunteers.
